Lee County, Fla., has selected the DVCS6100 Digital Audio System from Becker Avionics, of Sarasota, Fla., for integration into its recently acquired Bell 430 twin-engine helicopter for its MEDSTAR emergency medial services division. Becker said the aircraft is currently undergoing completion at Sarasota Avionics.

The DVCS6100 Digital Audio System offers up to 8 communication transmit (TX) and up to 8 receiver (RX) channels, an integrated warning tone generator for up to 8 different signals, an amplifier for 2 cockpit speakers, as well as interfaces for 2 Cockpit Voice Recorders (CVR), and a Public Address Amplifier (PA), according to the company.

“Becker’s DVCS6100 is well suited to support our air medical operations. The excellent Man-Machine-Interface, outstanding field reliability, the possibility to transmit on up to 8 channels, along with its crystal-clear audio quality made the DVCS6100 our audio system of choice on our new Bell 430 helicopter. We wanted to outfit our new EMS helicopter with some of the best avionics technology available, that’s why we selected the Becker product,” said Rob Fulton, director of operations for Lee County MEDSTAR.
