More connectivity options are coming to Sikorsky UH-60 and S70 Black Hawk helicopters thanks to an upgrade to the supplemental type certificate (STC) for Honeywell’s Aspire 200 satcom system.
Honeywell said the new STC includes a high-gain antenna, Wi-Fi router and the Scotty communication platform that compiles and compresses data and video.
Honeywell said the Aspire 200 system is the only high-broadband solution that mitigates the impact rotor wash has on a satellite signal, which, coupled with the Scotty communication platform, makes it particularly useful for emergency services where reliable, real-time communication is crucial.
