[Avionics Magazine 10-19-2016] Lufthansa Technik has launched its Condition Analytics platform, which combines condition monitoring and predictive maintenance on a single platform. The new and intelligent platform allows airlines to predict precisely when components should be replaced and recommends measures to be taken to avoid failures before they actually happen. Among other advantages, operators benefit from reduced fuel consumption, optimized use of expendable parts and enhanced safety.

Condition Analytics by Lufthansa Technik uses a multi-faceted approach to improve aircraft operations. Engineers and data scientists analyze flight and Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility data and use them as a basis for continuously developing analytics use cases. Once the analytical model has been developed, the system checks the customer data for relevant incidents and supplies the corresponding results to the customer automatically.

Condition Analytics is an independent platform that is not tied to a support contract with Lufthansa Technik. The platform will be available to customers from the first quarter of 2017.
