[Avionics Today July 10, 2014] DAC International announced its new collaboration with Cathay Pacific Airways, as the aftermarket supplier will collaborate with the airline on its e-Enabled aircraft program.

The Chinese carrier’s eEnabled aircraft solution is an advanced solution designed to provide full-time, global air-ground multi-channel data communications on the aircraft. DAC is supplying its Gen-X system, which will be installed in the flight deck and cabin to support system interfaces to the aircraft navigation systems, EFB functionality for charts and aircraft documentation, communication system interfaces for text messaging, maintenance and more.

“The Gen-X e-Enabling AID is a very cost effective solution that incorporates the latest processing technology and is designed to support an e-Enabling solution well into the future," said Francisco Hernandez, general manager of DAC International.

Hernandez said the Gen-X aide will be installed across Cathay Pacific’s fleet of Boeing 777s/747s and Airbus A320, A321 and A330.
