[Avionics Today 12-16-2015] AeroMobile, mobile network operator, in conjunction with Panasonic Avionics, has launched an in-flight 3G network. The network is operated over Panasonic’s Ku service and aims to enable a quality and range of services much closer to those experienced on the ground, including faster browsing, bigger attachments, quicker posts, more responsive apps and gaming.
Passengers will have access to the onboard 3G network in the air and will be billed directly by their home operator upon connecting to the network.

Airberlin’s entire A330-200 fleet will have AeroMobile’s 3G service installed and AeroMobile will start to roll-out 3G connectivity across other partner airlines in the months ahead.
