[Avionics Today July 15, 2014] Gogo has received regulatory approval to deploy its Ku-band satellite In-flight Connectivity (IFC) service for aircraft flying over Russian airspace. Approval was granted based on Gogo’s agreements with AltegroSky and RuSat to provide Ku-band service.

"This license will allow us to offer our current international airline partners coverage for their existing airline routes and is another significant step in giving us a truly global in-flight communications network," said Anand Chari, chief technology officer at Gogo.

Gogo expects to go live with the service in Russian airspace by the end of the month.
