[Avionics Today May 1, 2014] Jeppesen announced expanded European coverage areas for its Mobile FliteDeck VFR on the iPad.

Included in the new app capabilities are expanded VFR enroute data for European countries,  graphical NOTAM and temporary flight restriction (TFR) updates and a split data download capability to increase efficiency for private pilots, Jeppesen said. New coverage areas include Italy, which adds to other recently added areas such as Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.

Tim Huegel, director of aviation portfolio management at Jeppesen, said the new enhancements are aimed at improving the "private pilot flying experience." Huegel also said more capabilities are planned for the future, including  layered, graphical weather data, with detailed route and approach and departure weather planning capabilities.
