The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) issued a supplemental type certificate (STC) for the TrueNorth Avionics Simphon cabin communications systems on all Gulfstream business jets.

The certification allows European Gulfstream operators to more easily add the apps-based communications system, with the STC developed and completed by StandardAero. The system is apps-based and software defined with Wi-Fi capability.

“The achievement of this EASA STC, thanks to the certification experts at StandardAero, makes it easier for European-based Gulfstream owners and operators to not only upgrade the quality and functionality of their onboard phones, but also to add certified Wi-Fi—making it easier for passengers and crew to use a variety of personal devices,” says TrueNorth CEO, Mark van Berkel.
