Universal Avionics, Tucson, Ariz., received the first FAA supplemental type certificate for its EFI-890R Display retrofit into a Gulfstream G-III by IFR Avionics, in Van Nuys, Calif. The STC encompasses Gulfstream G-II, G-IIB and G-III aircraft. In addition to the new glass displays, the G-III has been equipped with Universal’s Vision-1 Synthetic Vision System, an Application Server Unit providing Jeppesen charts for a paperless cockpit and dual UNS-1 Flight Management Systems and Terrain Awareness and Warning System.
