[Avionics Today 09-27-2016] Southwest took delivery of its first Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft to Dallas, Texas on Sept. 23. The MAX aircraft is in Dallas to launch Service Ready Operational Validation (SROV) testing with Boeing, a technical milestone that occurs before the aircraft is put into revenue service in third quarter 2017.

Southwest is partnering with Boeing over the course of five days to validate flight test conditions, maintenance, and any differences between the MAX 8 and the 737-800. The testing will allow the airline to ensure it can make changes to flight operations processes and procedures to accommodate the new aircraft before the it enters into service. Check out the video below from Southwest for a sneak peek at the new aircraft!
