[Avionics Today 02-01-2016] Maxcraft Avionics has received FAA validation to install Garmin GNS or GTN series navigators in the Sikorsky S76A/C series helicopters.

With the approval, the package now expands to include GNS Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) and GTN navigators as well as all Honeywell EDZ-705/756 EFIS, and SPZ-7000 or SPZ-7600 Dual Digital Automatic Flight Control Systems (DDAFCS).

The navigators offer an integrated Very High Frequency Communications (VHF‐COM) transceiver, VHF Omni Directional Range and Instrument Landing System (VOR/ILS) receiver, as well as GPS en‐route, terminal and non‐precision GPS approach capabilities.
