Airbus Overshoots 2015 Target Deliveries

[Avionics Today 01-13-2016] Airbus delivered 635 aircraft in 2015, exceeding its targets and hitting a new company record. The deliveries include: 491 A320 family aircraft; 103 A330s; 27 A380s; and 14 A350 XWBs.

Airbus also received 1,036 net orders from 53 customers, including 897 single-aisle aircraft and 139 widebodies. At 2015 year-end the overall backlog had climbed 6,787 aircraft valued at $996.3 billion at list prices.

In 2015, Airbus’ A320neo was certified by the FAA and EASA, Airbus delivered 14 A350s and important progress was also made on the A350-1000, whose major components and structures are now taking shape across various production sites. Likewise, parts are now in production for the first A330neo. Last, 10 years after its first flight of the A380, the program is breaking-even for the first time.
