[Avionics Today 10-22-2014] During a ceremony at NBAA, the FAA issued certification for Embraer’s Legacy 500 business jet. This approval enables entry into service of the aircraft in the United States.
The Legacy 500 received certification from Brazil’s ANAC (Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil) in August and approval by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) is expected by the end of this year.
The Legacy 500 midsize business jet met or exceeded all performance expectations, Embraer said. Delivery to the first customer occurred on October 10 and up to six aircraft are expected to be delivered by the end of 2014.
