[Avionics Today April 9, 2014] U.S.-based avionics Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) provider Duncan Aviation has expanded its overhaul capabilities with the addition of autopilot diagnostic testing equipment.

Duncan has added new equipment from Honeywell’s Bendix King product line, the Bendix King KS270C / 271C /272C. Eric Olson, Duncan’s autopilot team leader, says this new Bendix King "Charlie" series uses a surface-mount technology that provides benefits for General Aviation aircraft, including Beechcraft, Cessna and Piper models.

“It is lighter weight and because these units are still being manufactured, parts are easier to get than older servos with feed-through or post-to-post technology," said Olson.

The MRO company now has overhaul and repair capabilities on the following BendixKing units; KFC 100/150 series, KFC 200/250 series and KFC 300 series, as well as an internal FAA-approved repair procedure to replace parts that are no longer available on 200/250 autopilots.
