Dulles, Va.-based Metron Aviation has a new agreement with Airservices Australia to assist in addressing the need to improve flight operations within Australia.

Under the agreement, Metron will assist with engaging international carriers regarding arrival times that reflect air traffic demand and capacity. The two companies are looking to develop a collaborative decision making (CDM) program with international stakeholders closely involved.

Airservices Australia CEO Margaret Staib said the partnership will introduce improvement air traffic flow management into the Asia Pacific region, consistent with the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) aviation system block upgraded program (ASBU).

"With the new CDM program, we will bring significant operational benefits to international flights and the entire aviation community, while reducing flight delays, fuel burn and emissions," said Staib.
