Sabena Technics has contracted a cabin modification project for two Airbus A320 and one Airbus A318 with an undisclosed Middle East VIP operator. Within the scope of this contract, Sabena Technics said it is carrying out VIP cabin modification as well as satcom systems installation.

The work is being performed by Sabena Technics at its VIP completion center in Bordeaux, France, and includes the installation of two SwiftBroadBand (SBB) satcom systems with the aggregation of up to four SBB channels in order to ensure full connectivity and maximum in-flight bandwidth. On the Airbus A318, Sabena Technics will also be carrying out the installation of Live TV as well as of a humidifier, both of which have never been placed on this type of aircraft.

“Through this project, Sabena Technics is able to demonstrate its know-how in cabin modification and complex system integration within a very constrained time frame. Over the years, our company has been developing such type of system upgrade and cabin refurbishment as a core activity and we will keep on offering our very specific skills to address this growing market,” said Jean-Luc Fournel, COO Customers of Sabena technics.
