Honeywell’s Ovation cabin management system has been certified by FAA, the company announced Saturday at the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) conference.

Ovation Select enables high-speed satellite communications, allowing passengers to carry on their personal devices and plug them in for in-flight use.

The modular, lightweight and flexible cabin management system provides component command and control, surround sound audio, high-definition (1080p) video and digital distribution throughout the cabin. Accessing and controlling the total cabin environment is accomplished through enhanced icon-based, touch-screen interfaces that offer a similar look and feel, whether it’s the full-size monitor, drink-rail-mounted personal control units, wireless hand-held remote, or their own iPad or iPod.

“Discerning business passengers expect reliable connectivity so they can be just as productive onboard their plane as they are in the office,” said Tony Brancato, vice president for Business and General Aviation Aftermarket at Honeywell Aerospace.
