Avionics Support Group, a Miami-based avionics systems integration, engineering, installation and manufacturing company, is forming a separate company, ASG Aerospace, to provide avionics maintenance and modification services for corporate jets and narrowbody aircraft. Starting Dec. 1, ASG Aerospace will occupy an 11,000-square-foot hangar at the Kendall-Tamiami Airport in Miami and will provide maintenance and modification services for avionics equipment including electronic flight bags, Iridium Satcom systems and LCD cabin displays. Hugo Fortes, Avionics Support Group’s vice president of sales and marketing, said ASG Aerospace will operate as a separate company under the parent company, Avionics Support Group, and will employ 15 people initially. In addition, the new company hopes to be certified as a Rockwell Collins dealer in four to six months, Fortes said.
