Azerbaijan Receives First Boeing 787

[Avionics Today 12-23-2014] Azerbaijan Airlines has received its first Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The national carrier of Azerbaijan is the first airline in the Commonwealth of Independent States to operate the 787, which will play a key role in the expansion of its long-haul fleet.

“We are very excited that Azerbaijan Airlines has selected the 787 Dreamliner to lead its route expansion plans and help their business grow,” said Marty Bentrott, vice president, Middle East, Russia and Central Asia sales at Boeing Commercial Airplanes. “We are very proud of our partnership with Azerbaijan Airlines and congratulate them on being the first 787 operator in this region.”
 

Boeing currently has a 787 backlog that includes 1,055 aircraft ordered from 58 different customers worldwide.
