A new mark for commercial airliner range is being set by Airbus, as the first ultra-long-range A350 XWB has been assembled and will enter service later this year.
Launch customer Singapore Airlines, which has ordered seven of the ultra-long-range aircraft, plans to use them on non-stop flights between Singapore and the U.S.
The aircraft has a segment-unmatched 9,700-nm range and a flight time of 20 hours, thanks to increased fuel reserves, according to Airbus.
