Northrop Grumman will replace Denmark’s ground-to-air radios. Acting through the company’s U.K.-based Park Air Systems subsidiary, the company was awarded a contract by Denmark’s air navigation service provider, NAVIAIR.

For the project, Park Air is installing its Sapphire T6 radio, MARC remote control and monitoring system and providing training at its academy in the U.K.

“In this tender, there was heavy emphasis on lifecycle costs and maintainability for the ATM equipment,” said Park Air Systems Managing Director Danny Milligan. NAVIAIR’s Tejpal Singh Binning identified the communications network upgrade as central to Denmark’s national system upgrade strategy.
