Tianjin Airlines to Operate First Chinese-Built Airbus A330

Tianjin Airlines will become the first commercial carrier to operate an Airbus A330 manufactured in China. Airbus made the announcement Wednesday after completing the inauguration of its new A330 completion and delivery center in Tianjin, China.

The new plant is composed of paint shop, weighing hangar and one main hangar with three aircraft positions covering an area of 16,800m2.The A330 C&DC in Tianjin will employ more than 250 people and is ready to deliver two aircraft per month by early 2019.

By the end of August 2017, the number of in-service Airbus aircraft operated by Chinese carriers totaled 1,484 aircraft, including 1,282 A320s and 202 A330s.
