The latest version of Honeywell’s GoDirect toolkit mobile application offers an updated way for airline maintenance personnel to troubleshoot Wi-Fi issues, Honeywell said.

Using the company’s JetWave connectivity hardware, the app can connect to Inmarsat’s global, high-speed in-flight Wi-Fi service, GX Aviation. Troubleshooting can then be implemented on an iPhone or iPad. Users can pull performance information and maintenance logs from the JetWave high-speed data system, and provide them to Honeywell’s network operating center. As long as the mobile device is connected to an airplane sitting on the ramp, that information can be delivered to Honeywell remotely.

Honeywell plans to release the app to the public this summer.
