[Avionics Magazine 12-01-2016] With the initial test flight taking place on Nov. 19, the Lockheed Martin T-50A has begun operations in Greenville, South Carolina.

Lockheed Martin/Korean Aerospace Industries announced the T-50A as their offering for the U.S. Air Force’s Advanced Pilot Training (APT)/T-X competition in February, with Greenville as the Final Assembly and Checkout Facility (FACO).
Built around Lockheed Martin’s T-50, the T-50A is built around fifth generation technology and hopes to train the F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning II pilots, as well as pilots for frontline fourth generation aircraft.
