[Avionics Magazine 10-05-2016] The long-standing relationship between Rockwell Collins and the U.S. Army’s Sikorsky UH-60M Black Hawk program has been strengthened by a five-year contract, according to a company news release. Rockwell Collins will service the MFD-268C4 Multi-Function Display (MFD) units for both U.S. and foreign military sales customers.
The Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based company could perform upgrade, repair or modification services for up to 2,160 units during the lifetime of this Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. All displays will be serviced at Rockwell Collins’ center in Atlanta, Georgia.
With an open-architecture design, the displays provide multiple video interfaces, as well as advanced graphic engines, safety critical processing and Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) technologies. They are based on the design features of the Flight2 product line, which was originally unveiled in 1999.
Rockwell Collins currently also services the Boeing CH-47F Chinook and the Sikorsky S-70B Sea Hawk, S-92 and MH-60T, among other customers.
