[Avionics Magazine 09-19-2016] Global aeronautical communications provider Satcom Direct (SD) has acquired AircraftLogs, a company based in Columbus, Ohio, that offers technology for aircraft flight scheduling software and tax reporting tools for corporate and private flight departments. With the purchase of AircraftLogs, SD is adding scheduling and tax capabilities to its integrated flight operations management portfolio, SD Pro.

Satcom Direct designed its SD Pro software, which launched in March, to compile critical information for flight departments and display it in real time. Through the program, users can access communications systems status, flight tracking, flight logs, aircraft status and intent, maintenance data, and scheduling data. The acquisition of AircraftLogs will add features and functionality to the SD Pro platform including scheduling and tax reporting services, according to the company.
