[Avionics Magazine 09-16-2016] UTC Aerospace Systems will continue delivering global field service, sustainment and on-site expertise in support of Raytheon for their recent award to operate the U.S. Air Force’s (USAF) Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS). UTC Aerospace Systems’ Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and Space Systems business unit will provide the expertise in Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) Multi-Spectral Imaging (MSI) exploitation and training to Raytheon.

DCGS is the USAF’s primary ISR collection system, command and situational awareness tool. It enables military analysts and operations experts access to data acquired from manned and unmanned ISR aerial platforms, which employ UTC Aerospace Systems intelligence collecting sensors, such as the MS-177 and the Syers. DCGS also provides continuous intelligence sharing across many spectral domains so that U.S. and coalition military forces can rapidly anticipate and change the course of events in the battlespace.
