[Avionics Magazine 09-01-2016] Elliott Aviation announced its STC certification on a Garmin ADS-B Out and In solution for the Beechcraft Premier I and IA airframes. The STC provides a cost effective alternative to current available solutions and can be completed in a five-day downtime, according to Elliot Aviation.

The STC is similar in design to the ADS-B solution Gulfstream provides for the G150 and G200 series aircraft and Elliott’s Hawker ADS-B solution. It incorporates the remote mount transponders from the latest Garmin G5000 FAA part 25 certified avionics suite. This design does not require additional modifications to the avionics and provides seamless integration to the existing cockpit controls.

The installation replaces the existing Collins TDR-94-D transponder with dual remote mount Garmin GTX-3000 smart transponders. The system also installs a Garmin GDL-88, GA-36 and Flightstream 110 to provide WAAS/GPS to the GTX-3000 along with FIS-B and TIS-B to a Bluetooth compatible device.

In addition to ADS-B Out, the solution provides ADS-B In capability that allows pilots to receive subscription-free Flight Information Service-Broadcast (FIS-B) weather information, including NEXRAD, METAR, TAF’s and NOTAMs. These can be displayed on a mobile in-cockpit device, negating the need for a cockpit display upgrade, with Garmin’s Flight Stream App.

Elliott Aviation also has Garmin ADS-B solutions for 2002 and newer Pro Line 21 Hawkers, and is currently working on STCs for Beechjet/Hawker 400A/400XP.
