Thales Announces Flurry of Avionics Contracts

[Avionics Today 07-11-2016] Thales has revealed it landed contracts for more than 400 Airbus single-aisle aircraft platforms in the last six months for its Flight Management Systems (FMS) and T3CAS surveillance platforms. It’s T3CAS unit features a Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS), a Terrain Avoidance Warning System (TAWS) and a Mode S transponder in one single unit. Customers include Volaris, VIVa, Azul, easyjet, the IAG group and Hong Kong Express. The contracts represent 70 percent market share for FMS and 47 percent market share for T3CAS on Airbus aircraft linefit.

Furthermore, easyJet has also selected the Thales/ACSS T3CAS surveillance solution on their A320 New Engine Option (NEO) and Current Engine Option (CEO) aircraft. easyJet will equip a total of 136 A320 NEO and CEOs with the T3CAS surveillance platform.
