[Avionics Today 04-08-2016] Star Navigation Systems and Chengdu Spaceon Technology’s joint product, STAR Track, Talk and Text (STAR-TTT), has entered into the qualification phase, with the execution of the environmental test plan. The two companies have completed the test plan under the supervision and agreement of the relevant certification authorities in Canada and China.

The product is designed to offer small airplanes, helicopters, and ground and maritime transport a cost-efficient, reliable solution for tracking and communications purposes.

"This will allow the product to be qualified in both Canada and China and ready for the two markets at the same time,” said Viraf S. Kapadia, CEO of Star. “Further to the cooperation agreement we signed with our partner in China, the STAR-TTT will be marketed by Spaceon in China, and by Star Navigation for the rest of the world. In addition, the same arrangement has been made for Spaceon to market Star’s main system, STAR ADS [Aircraft Data Service], which is currently in operation and, shortly, the STAR V-trk, an entry-level system."
