[Avionics Today 03-16-2016] North Atlantic Industries (NAI) announced availability of its Quad Core Power PC, 3U cPCI COTS Single Board Computer (SBC) solution targeted at military and avionics platforms that require high-density communications and performance in SWaP-constrained environments.

NXP’s 1.2 GHz Quad QorIQ P2041 PowerPC processor powers the 75PPC1-FT3-AR1, which is configured with quad channel, dual redundant, MIL-STD-1553B, and 12-channel ARINC 429/575 Tx/Rx communications bus ports. The 3U cPCI rugged SBC leverages NAI’s modular Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products built on an open systems architecture allowing technology insertion, and conforms to all open standards.

“The 75PPC1-FT3-AR1 tests the boundaries of high performance computation in small form factor, rugged defense products while maximizing MIL-STD-1553B and ARINC 429/575 communications in a single 3U slot,” said Lino Massafra, vice president of sales and marketing at NAI.
