[Avionics Today 03-01-2016] Era Group, a helicopter transport operator based in the United States, has taken delivery of its first two Finmeccanica AW189 heavy helicopters fitted with Rockwell Collins avionics.
Already operated in the European offshore market, the AW189 helicopter is a multirole platform and features a cockpit design incorporating advanced situational awareness technologies.
Rockwell Collins equipment on the AW189 includes large format Multi-Function Display (MFD)-2810 displays, along with HeliSure Helicopter Terrain Avoidance Warning System (HTAWS) and Helicopter Synthetic Vision Technology (HSVS). In addition, the AW189 is also equipped with the Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 suite of communications and navigation radios, and an optional traffic collision avoidance system, TCAS 2.
