[Avionics Today 06-25-2015] Snecma (Safran) has awarded a consortium composed of Equip’Aero Services, Latecoere Services, SNC – Lavalin, and Spherea Test & Services, a contract to build an open-air test cell for future engines. This contract includes all the infrastructure and resources required to perform complex system testing. The overall financial scope of the project, excluding in-service support, is approximately €10 million ($11.4 million).
Spherea stands as consortium leader, project coordinator and supplier of the control and command system, which includes 15 acquisition bays in containers, one video surveillance, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) system and one computer control room. SNC-Lavalin will design and engineer structural works, including buildings and site infrastructure. Latecoere Services will structure calculations, design and supply engine support structures, while Equip’Aero will provide resources and the management of fluids.
