[Avionics Today 03-25-2015] Ultra Electronics Airport Systems has been awarded a contract by Belo Horizonte International Airport in Brazil to deliver and integrate an Airport Management System (AMS). The software platform for real-time information management will optimize BH Airport’s decision-making process, enhance operational efficiency and underpin a significant expansion of the airport to accommodate the current 10 million to 20 million passengers per year.

The AMS is comprised of an Airport Operational Database (AODB), a flight/data display system and a resource management system. These three aspects will be fully integrated with a wide variety of other operational and information systems at BH Airport.

“BH Airport is growing rapidly and we require systems that can be readily adapted to our needs and simplifies intersystem communications by ensuring that all systems are speaking the same language,” said Andre Costa, the IT manager for BH Airport, noting that the system will allow the airport to better communicate with airlines and other stakeholders.
