IS&S Completes NextGen C-130 FMS Flight Testing

[Avionics Today 03-24-2015] Innovative Solutions & Support (IS&S) completed the flight testing and customer delivery of its NextGen Flight Management System (FMS) on the Lockheed Martin C-130 military transport aircraft. The flight deck upgrade is designed to integrate legacy and newly installed equipment on C-130s and L-100-30s into an advanced cockpit. 

 

 

 

Along with the FMS, the flight deck upgrade includes seven large flat panel displays, a standby navigation unit, warning system and computers to enhance tactical and situational awareness for C-130 and L-100-30 operators. When the NextGen flight deck upgrade is integrated with Beta 3 GPS receivers, the C-130 and L-100-30 aircraft will become RNP/RF, WAAS/GPS and LPV capable.
