[Avionics Today 02-10-2015] Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) is transforming Bombardier’s Global 5000 business jet into the new generation ELI-3360 Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA). Designed by the organization’s ELTA group, the new MPA features an electro-optical sensor and a communications suite featuring radios, broadband satellite communication, data links and a self-protection suite.

The new ELI-3360 will join IAI’s existing lineup of Special Mission Aircraft (SMA), including the Gulfstream G550 Conformal Airborne Early Warning (CAEW) aircraft and the G-V Signal Intelligence Aircraft (SEMA).

“The new business-jet-based MPA, in concert with UAS and shore-based systems will provide unmatched maritime domain superiority,” said Nisim Hadas, executive vice president and ELTA president.
