[Avionics Today 10-22-2014] Jeppesen will supply critical navigation and flight data to support the recently announced InSight Integrated Flight Deck from Universal Avionics. InSight is a new primary flight and multifunction display avionics system scheduled to be available by the second quarter of 2015 for business aviation operators.
Jeppesen will supply digital terminal chart data with ownship position capabilities, airport moving map data, NavData navigation information, cultural data and obstacle data to serve global flight operations. The digital terminal charts and airport moving map data will be updated through the use of Jeppesen Distribution Manager (JDM). This scalable data management system distributes encrypted operational data and documents across a web-based system, according to Jeppesen.
Additionally, Universal Avionics terrain data also will be part of the integrated suite of data for the system.
