[Avionics Today 09-30-2014] Widerøe, a regional carrier of Scandinavia, recently gained authorization for paperless flight operations, using Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) solutions. Delivered through iPad and Aviobook EFB software, the Jeppesen solution helped Widerøe gain fully digital operational approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Norway (CAA Norway).

Widerøe has been transitioning its flight operations over the last year, using the FliteDeck Pro solution, which eliminates paper-based flight materials and replaces them with digital ones. By reducing weight and, in turn, fuel burn, the airline can achieve significant annual cost savings.
