[Avionics Today 08-25-2014] Pilatus and Indian systems integration company Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) have signed a 10-year contract for the delivery of the first complete PC-12 NG.

Set for delivery in late 2016, the project includes tooling, jigs and TASL personnel training at Pilatus facilities in Switzerland, which will enable TASL to supply PC-12 NG aero structures for the Pilatus global supply chain. TASL replaces an existing Pilatus supplier who was formerly responsible for producing PC-12 aero structures in Eastern Europe. The Hyderabad-based company has set up a number of similar aero structure programs for global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) since 2009.

“The partnership is also important in the context of Pilatus’ offset obligation resulting from the sale of the PC-7 MkII Training Aircraft System to the Indian Air Force,” said Markus Bucher, CEO of Pilatus Aircraft, referring to the 2012 contract with the government of India to supply 75 PC-7 Mkâ…¡ turboprop basic trainer aircraft to the Indian Air Force.
