Exelis to Build Australian Headquarters

[Avionics Today May 21, 2014] Exelis will build a new regional headquarters for the Asia Pacific market in Melbourne, Australia, as the aerospace systems manufacturer seeks to provide more support for customers in the region. 

The new facility will provide research and development, testing and systems integration for local and export opportunities.  With the Australian location, Exelis will have established a presence in over 30 countries. 
 
“The decision to establish our Asia Pacific headquarters in Melbourne was heavily influenced by the region’s robust engineering talent, growing market opportunities and the unwavering support from the Victorian Government,” said Exelis CEO and President David Melcher. 
 

Melcher said Exelis, which recently completing the nationwide deployment of the ADS-B system in the U.S., is currently focused on increased international expansion.
