[Avionics Today Feb. 25, 2014] The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has approved the Rockwell Collins Cockpit Display System onboard the AgustaWestland AW189 helicopter.

EASA’s certification enables final approval of the AW189 cockpit, which includes the first two products of Rockwell Collins’ HeliSure family — Helicopter Synthetic Vision System (H-SVS) and Helicopter Terrain Awareness and Warning System (H-TAWS).

“One of our core capabilities is to provide advanced cockpit solutions that are certified up to the highest level of criticality,” said Claude Alber, vice president and managing director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa for Rockwell Collins. “Both HeliSure H-SVS and H-TAWS will greatly enhance pilot situational awareness while providing advanced warning about dangers along their flight path.”
