[Avionics Today January 28, 2014] Seaborne Airlines has become the first Caribbean carrier to offer gate-to-gate cell phone use.

The airline recently completed carrier-defined tolerant testing to ensure that the expanded use of cell phones and other Personal Electronic Devices (PEDs) would not interfere with critical aircraft systems during any phase of flight.

Permission to expand the use of PEDs was issued to Seaborne by the FAA.
