Rockwell Collins has a new long-term service agreement to provide avionics maintenance for a fleet of more than 300 passenger jets operated by Illinois-based aerospace and defense contractor AAR.

Under the 10-year agreement, Rockwell Collins will provide maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) for AAR’s fleet of Airbus, Boeing and Bombardier aircraft.

The company also announced a $2-million contract from the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) to develop a software defined radio (SDR) global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receiver capability. AFRL is looking to develop the security architecture required for receiver equipment certifications capable of interfacing with modern GPS signals and other constellations that are changing the way the U.S. military deploys GNSS-based positioning and navigation.
