Pamela Drew
ITT Exelis appointed Pamela Drew as president of its Information Systems business area, based in Herndon, Va., leading the company’s air traffic management, cybersolutions and space efforts.
Before joining Exelis, Drew served as senior vice president of Strategic Capabilities and Technology at TASC, leading a team that provided systems engineering and integration, cybersecurity, financial and business analytics, and test and evaluation systems.
Previously, she was sector vice president of business development for Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems sector. Drew also served as vice president and general manager for Boeing’s Integrated Defense and Security Solutions organization, where she led strategy and business generation in the homeland and global security, civil and commercial markets.
Sean McGeough
Nextant Aerospace hired Sean McGeough as president. McGeough, who most recently led Hawker Beechcraft’s operations in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific, will concentrate on developing strategies that will allow Nextant to achieve global market penetration and growth for the Nextant 400XT aircraft.
Previously, McGeough was Hawker Beechcraft’s vice president of international sales, among several roles of increasing sales responsibility he held since joining the company in 1999. Earlier, McGeough held senior-level sales positions with Diamond Aircraft Industries.
Brian Anderson
Cobham SATCOM appointed Brian Anderson to its aeronautical sales team as aftermarket sales manager for the Americas.Anderson will initially be responsible for sales of Cobham SATCOM’s aeronautical satellite communications product line to the business aviation aftermarket segment throughout the Americas.
With more than a decade of aviation experience, Anderson has worked for major industry players in sales, business development and project management roles.
Anderson joins Cobham SATCOM from Avionics Support Group, where he helped develop sales and certification activities for the AVIATOR portfolio.
Gulfstream Appointments
Gulfstream Aerospace, based in Savannah, Ga., named two longtime company employees to help lead its product support sales organization. Now heading the respective sales teams for principally the East and West coasts of the United States are Brian Schank and Darwin Stout.
Schank, a 24-year Gulfstream veteran, was most recently director, Business and Program Support, Product Support Sales. While at Gulfstream, Schank has also been director, West Coast Sales; a regional sales manager (RSM); Technical Services administrator; and an aircraft technician.
Stout, who is in his 17th year with Gulfstream, was most recently a West Coast-based national sales manager for Product Support Sales. He has also been a Southwest-based RSM, a marketing representative for Service Center Sales, a manager for Business Sales and a liaison engineer for Service Engineering.
The company also named Steve Cass vice president, communications. Prior to this position, Cass worked at Gulfstream as director, sales support.
Since joining Gulfstream in 1992, Cass served in Preliminary Design Engineering, where he worked on the GV program, various aircraft design studies, special mission aircraft, sales support and world record analyses. Before coming to Gulfstream, Cass worked for five years at Rockwell International in aircraft conceptual design.
Charlie Ferraro
Landmark Aviation, based in Houston, Texas, named Charlie Ferraro as a regional vice president. Ferraro will supervise the company’s Western U.S. locations.
Ferraro, who will be based out of San Diego, has been with Landmark Aviation since 2005.
Peter Lyons
San Jose, Costa Rica-based avionics engineering company Avionyx S.A. appointed Peter Lyons company president.
In his new role, Lyons, former vice president of Aspen Avionics, will focus on business development. Previously, he has held positions at Rockwell Collins, CAE Aviation and Eclipse Aviation.
Global Eagle Management
Global Eagle Acquisition Corp. named John LaValle, currently CEO of Row 44, to the position of CEO of Global Eagle. Additionally, Louis Belanger-Martin, who is currently the CEO of Advanced Inflight Alliance AG (AIA), will become vice chairman of the board of Global Eagle. Global Eagle Acquisition acquired Row 44 and 86 percent of the issued and outstanding shares of AIA. Global Eagle Acquisition Corp. has been renamed Global Eagle Entertainment.
LaValle has served as the CEO of Row 44 for the past year. After joining the company in 2007, he helped to establish and strengthen Row 44’s leadership position in satellite-based in-flight Wi-Fi and entertainment content.
Belanger-Martin will continue to serve as CEO at AIA, a position he has held since 2011. He will serve as a member of the Management Board at AIA and will lead the efforts to develop Global Eagle’s offering into a single solution.
Phil Stearns
Stevens Aviation, based in Greenville, S.C., promoted Phil Stearns, previously technical sales manager, to the role of general manager of the company’s Dayton, Ohio, facility. Stearns has been with Stevens for more than six years.
Peter Eriksen
Metron Aviation, of Dulles, Va., named Peter Eriksen Airport Optimization and Air Traffic Management (ATM) expert. Eriksen most recently led Eurocontrol’s contribution to the SESAR Joint Undertaking in the Airport domain.
With a tenure of 16 years at Eurocontrol, Eriksen was responsible for Eurocontrol’s airport research program, in particular the development of Collaborative Decision Making and Total Airport Management, optimization of runway throughput, surface management and integration of the European airports into the ATM network.
