TransAsia Airways selected the Rockwell Collins PAVES 2 in-flight entertainment system with the embedded Airshow 3D Moving Map for a fleet of new Airbus aircraft.

The Taiwan carrier selected the Rockwell Collins avionics components for six new Airbus A320s, with an option for an additional 12 aircraft.

“Rockwell Collins’ enhanced Airshow 3D Moving Map system includes a new graphical design that utilizes NASA’s Blue Marble map data, which is based on actual satellite imagery, to provide a modernized view of real-time flight information to passengers,” Rockwell Collins said in a statement.

The avionics manufacturer recently announced an iPad version of its Airshow application, and also announced sales of avionics upgrades to Kazakhstan-based Air Astana this week.
