L2 Awarded ARINC Contract for e-Enabled Aircraft Program

L2 Consulting Services, of Austin, Texas, has been awarded a contract from ARINC to develop aircraft integration, engineering design and manufacture of the prototype kits for the Cathay Pacific e-Enabled Aircraft Program. The engineering efforts have commenced for the 777-200/300/300ER fleet and then will incorporate the A320, A330, A340, 747-400/8F fleets. The initial Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the 777 aircraft is scheduled to be completed in May 2013.

"We are delighted that ARINC has chosen us to be a part of such an important program. The ARINC e-Enabled system represents some of the most sophisticated flight deck technology developed in decades," said L2 Vice President Operations Dean Rudolph.

The e-Enabled program is an advanced information management system designed to improve overall flight operations by offering fully-customized, integrated communications management of flight operations, data communication services, cabin services, maintenance, diagnostics and safety information. The system consists of twenty line replaceable units which includes Electronic Flight Bags (EFB), a cellular Terminal Wireless LAN (cTWLU) system, Cabin Wireless LAN (CWLU) systems, Iridium Satcom System and Avionics Interface Device (AID), all of which will interface to existing aircraft systems.
