New Delhi, India-based Samtel Avionics and Defense Systems announced a $5.1 million order to manufacture avionics equipment from Honeywell.

“Samtel is also in discussion with Honeywell for multiple display programs, and expects to get more business with the total potential value reaching up to
$100 Million over the next 5-7 years,” Samtel said in a statement.

The Indian manufacturer said production of the equipment for Honeywell will begin shortly, but did not specify when deliveries to Honeywell would be completed.

The two companies did not state what specific products Honeywell was seeking to develop with the new order.

“Samtel and Honeywell have had a successful relationship in the Avionics space and we are happy to take this relationship to the next level. Samtel is now poised to become India’s First Complete Avionics Firm in the private domain, and our partnerships with global giants such as Honeywell will help us cement our position,” said Puneet Kaura, executive director at Samtel.
