Thales to Provide Avionics Support for South African Aircraft

Thales will provide support for avionics systems on South African C130BZ Tactical Transport aircrafts, Rooivalk Combat helicopters, Hawk Lead-In-Fighters and the Super Lynx helicopters, the company said Monday.

Under terms of the five-year agreement, Thales will supply Through Life Support (TLS) for Thales avionics equipment on aircraft operated by the South African Department of Defense, South African Air Force and Armaments Corporation of South Africa Ltd. (Armscor).

“Under this extended perimeter contract, Thales will deliver a global logistics support services solution to Armscor, encompassing, among other items, management of obsolescence, of strategic stocks of components, technical support and assistance,” said Merry Michaux, Thales vice president and managing director of Military Aerospace Customer Support and Services.
