Shahram Askarpour

Innovative Solutions & Support, based in Exton, Pa., promoted Shahram Askarpour to president of the company. He will replace Roman Ptakowski, who is retiring. Ptakowski will continue to serve as a consultant.

Prior to this role, Askarpour was vice president of engineering for the company for seven years.

Bob Lynch, Elie Tabri

TrueNorth Avionics, based in Ottawa, Canada, appointed Bob Lynch sales director for the eastern U.S. region and Elie Tabri sales director for the western U.S. region. 

With more than 20 years of technology sales experience, Lynch most recently helped launch a sales management firm that provides software and design services. He has a strong background in sales campaign strategies and contract negotiations.

Tabri’s 18-year sales career includes success in building and maintaining strategic accounts, along with knowledge of both end-customer and dealer sales channels.
 

 

 

David Horton

Cobham Beacon Solutions appointed David Horton senior sales manager for Artex aviation product lines in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He will oversee sales operations for both direct and indirect sales.

Horton brings more than two decades of sales experience in the aerospace, telematics and satellite industries to his new job. Previously, he directed sales operations for Orbit Communications Systems and EMS Technologies Global Tracking and Defense and Space business unit in the United States.

Crane Aerospace & Electronics

Robert Taveras

Crane Aerospace & Electronics appointed Robert Tavares president of the electronics group and David Bender president of the aerospace group. Previously, Bender was president of both the aerospace group and the electronics group.

Tavares will be located in Redmond, Wash., and is responsible for operations of the electronics group sites and product solutions, including power, microwave and microelectronics. Before joining Crane, Tavares was president of e2V, a leading global provider of technology solutions for high performance systems. Before that, he was vice president of the Microwave Solutions for Crane Aerospace & Electronics.

David Bender

David BenderBender will be located in Lynnwood, Wash., and is responsible for aerospace group site operations and product solutions. Bender joined Crane six years ago as president of the electronics group of Crane Aerospace & Electronics. Before joining Crane, Bender spent more than 20 years with Aerojet General Corp. 

 

Mike Sapanara, Rodger Renaud

West Star Aviation appointed Mike Sapanara avionics technical sales lead. In this role, he will focus on large avionics projects such as major glass retrofits, complete cabin management upgrades, and Satcom installations at the West Star’s East Alton, Ill., and Grand Junction, Colo., location.

Sapanara has more than 38 years of experience and most recently was senior field service engineer and regional sales manager at Rockwell Collins. He was part of the United States Coast Guard and recently retired from the Air Force Reserve in 2007.
The company also named Rodger Renaud general manager at the company’s East Alton, Ill., facility located at the St. Louis Regional Airport.

Thomas Huff

Thomas Huff

Gulfstream Aerospace named Thomas Huff to the newly created position of aviation safety officer. He will oversee a comprehensive aviation safety program for all Gulfstream flight operations, including experimental test, production test, demonstration and corporate flights.

Huff is a retired U.S. Navy test pilot with more than 25 years of experience in the field. Most recently, he was commander at the Naval Test Wing, Atlantic, in Patuxent River, Md. Prior to that, Huff was the chief of staff for the program executive officer for unmanned aircraft systems and weapons at Patuxent River.

Norman Ramirez

Landmark Aviation named Norman Ramirez general manager of its Oakland International Airport location in California.

Ramirez has worked in the aviation industry for more than 15 years, working with Signature Flight Support, Atlantic Aviation and American Airlines. Most recently he was general manager of Atlantic Aviation’s Hayward, Calif., location.

Ted Haugner

ATP, based in Brisbane, Calif., named Ted Haugner director of sales. In this position, Haugner will oversee all aspects of ATP’s extensive sales and customer service channels.

Prior to joining ATP, Haugner spent 13 years at IKON Office Solutions where most recently he was area vice president. His responsibilities included directing business activities and coordinating equipment sales.

He also managed a staff of sales directors, as well as all professional services, management services and technical services personnel.

Eric Christensen

Embraer named Eric Christensen regional vice president of marketing for the company’s commercial aviation division in North America. He will be responsible for marketing Embraer’s E-Jets platform and for leading the Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based sales engineering and marketing teams.

Christensen joins Embraer after a 26-year career with SkyWest, parent company to SkyWest Airlines and ExpressJet Airlines. Most recently, he was vice president of planning.
