Esterline CMC Electronics (CMC) received Type Certification from Transport Canada for its third-generation SureSight Enhanced Vision System (EVS) sensor, known as the CMA-2700.

The CMA-2700 features digital image processing, including dynamic non-uniformity corrections. The company said this digital system is the first EVS that is fully compliant to ARINC 818 Avionics Digital Video Bus standards. Type Certification included compliance to DO-178B (software) and DO-254 (firmware) to Design Assurance Level B, and to DO-160F for environmental hardware qualification.

“With this award, our state-of-the-art EVS sensor has demonstrated that it meets the most exacting EVS requirements. This approval is the culmination of an exhaustive development program, teaming CMC’s product with Rockwell Collins Head-up Guidance System technology. We are very pleased with this success and the on-going relationship with our customer, Rockwell Collins Head-up Guidance Systems,” said Greg Yeldon, president, Esterline CMC Electronics, said.
